OUR MEETING IS POSTPONED

THE MEETING THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED ON THE WEBSITE FOR MAY 3, 2012 FOR THE MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN POSTPONED. THE MEETING SHALL OCCUR ON JUNE 1, 2012 AT 7PM AT SEVEN HILLS CAFE. ALL MEMBERS AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS MAY ATTEND. AMONG THE ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED INCLUDE THE NEW BY-LAWS AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

EARTH DAY TO BE CELEBRATED SUNDAY

The Earth Day Event sponsored by our organization and other area organizations including The Newtown Creek Alliance and Open Space Alliance shall occur on Sunday, May 6th at noon. Among the activities will be group photographs at The Creek. A clean up of The Nature Walk will occur. There will also be planting of a tree to memorialize the day. Additionally, plants will be planted within the area.

EARTH DAY GOES FORWARD ON A LIMITED BASIS

While the official celebration has been postponed to May 6th, I want to personally thank all those who braved the elements and helped with the planting. I wish to single out The Parks Dept workers, Mariechal and Jose. Kate Zidar worked tirelessly with her friends from New Town Creek Alliance. We are grateful to the youth volunteers from Greenpoint YMCA who came out and helped plant.
